Syzygium Aromaticum
Clove is the flower bud of the evergreen clove tree with Latin name Syzygium aromaticum. It is growing mainly in Indonesia (native to Maluku Islands), Madagascar, Zanzibar, Pakistan, Sri Langka, Tanzania, and Brazil.
INDONESIA CLOVE
In Indonesia, clove has an important role for Kretek Cigarettes as one of its main ingredients. Clove has no substitution and the production quantity is difficult to predict as the plantations are mainly, around 95%, own traditionally by individual farmers and spread mainly in Java, Bali, Sulawesi, Sumatera, Maluku, and Nusa Tenggara.
